Cornwall coastal wall art
Porth
Porth is a sheltered coastal village and sandy bay on the eastern edge of Newquay, between the town and Watergate Bay. The beach is enclosed by headlands, with a long tidal reach of pale sand and clear water stretching inland towards the Porth valley.
On the northern side of the bay, Porth Island — also known as Trevelgue Head — is joined to the mainland by a narrow footbridge. The headland contains prehistoric defensive earthworks, settlement remains and two Bronze Age barrows, while a blowhole at its seaward end adds another distinctive feature to this rugged landmark.
These aerial photographs capture Porth Beach, Porth Island and the surrounding Newquay coastline through changing tides, bright summer colour and quieter coastal light. The collection brings together turquoise water, layered cliffs, sandy shoreline and the headland’s unmistakable shape from above.
