Orange, yellow, and red sunrise light settles over Porthcothan Bay on an autumn morning, bringing warmth to the fields and coastline and reflecting subtly across the water. Set on Cornwall’s north coast between Newquay and Padstow, Porthcothan is a dune-backed cove with a wide sweep of sand that opens out as the tide falls. This image is especially personal to me—it was photographed in my home of Porthcothan, a place that’s deeply close to my heart. The full A-series photograph stays on the front. Its outer edges are mirrored around the sides, preserving the composition on the face. The selected size is the canvas face size.
