Bright autumn sun made this view of Godrevy Lighthouse a difficult exposure, but I liked the contrast between the dark island and the brilliant reflection on the sea.
The lighthouse stands above rocky ledges, with Godrevy and Gwithian stretching away along the coast behind it. Built in 1859 to mark the Stones reef, its white octagonal tower is 26 metres high.
Printed from my full-resolution photograph on Invercote photographic card, this A5 card (148 × 210 mm) has a clean white border around the sparkling sea and dark island. A good choice for someone who always looks for the lighthouse on a walk around St Ives Bay.
