St Enodoc Church & the Camel Estuary (May 2026)
Captured in May 2026, this aerial looks toward St Enodoc Church, which dominates the foreground of the frame, with the Camel Estuary stretching away behind it. Nestled amongst the dunes above Daymer Bay, St Enodoc is one of Cornwall’s most historic churches, with parts of the building dating back to the 12th century and a close association with the poet Sir John Betjeman, who is buried in the churchyard.
The elevated viewpoint places the church firmly at the centre of the scene while the estuary provides a wider sense of place beyond. A simple, balanced composition that brings together one of North Cornwall’s most recognisable landmarks and the landscape that surrounds it.
