Dusk & Dawn

This collection brings together sunrise and sunset aerial prints from across Cornwall, captured during the short windows of light at the beginning and end of the day. These are the moments when the coast changes fastest: colour builds over the sea, shadows stretch across the beaches, and familiar places take on a completely different feel.

The images include calm high-tide sunsets, cold winter sunrises, spring evenings over the estuaries, and intense red, orange and yellow skies above the north coast. Some photographs focus on well-known locations such as Porthcothan Bay, Padstow, Trevose Head, Newquay, The Camel Estuary and more; others are more minimal, with only sea, sky and a distant rock or headland to place the scene.

From the air, dusk and dawn are especially strong because the light reveals shape and distance: sandbanks, surf lines, cliff edges, harbour lights and calm water all become more defined. This collection is about that changing edge of the day — not just dramatic colour, but the way early and late light changes the coastline itself.
