Behind the lens

About this photograph

From Porthkidney, I looked across the estuary mouth towards Godrevy with the tide between mid and low and a vast expanse of sand on show.

Turquoise shallows meet pale sandbanks, then the eye follows the beaches on the far side of the river all the way to the lighthouse. The stretch from Hayle to Godrevy is about three miles long at low tide.

Printed from my full-resolution photograph on Invercote photographic card, this A5 card (148 × 210 mm) has a clean white border around the broad beach view. Send it to someone who could happily spend a day walking the sands of St Ives Bay.
