Porthmeor from the rocks at its western end, with long, even lines of swell and the surfers paddling out between sets. It was a clear, offshore autumn morning and the colour in the water was something else.
The dark rocks of the point fill the bottom of the picture, and the beach runs back past Tate St Ives to the Island at the far end.
It’s printed from the full-resolution photograph on Invercote photographic card, so even the tiny surfers stay clear, and it’s A5 (148 × 210 mm) with a white border. One for a surfer, or anyone whose St Ives starts and ends on Porthmeor.
