Holywell Bay

Holywell Bay sits on the north Cornwall coast near Newquay, between Crantock and Perranporth. It is a wide sandy beach backed by a large dune system, with rugged headlands on either side and the distinctive offshore rocks visible out in the bay.

The beach has a more open, Atlantic-facing feel than the sheltered coves further north. At low tide, the sand opens out into a broad sweep, with shallow water, exposed beach patterns and clear views along the coast. From some angles, Newquay is visible to the north; from others, the view runs south toward Perranporth and the coastline beyond.

This collection focuses on Holywell Bay from above: the shape of the beach, the dune-backed coastline, the offshore rocks and the changing colour of the water in summer light. The images show Holywell as part of the wider Newquay coast, with open sand, strong coastal views and the scale that only really becomes clear from the air.
