Port Isaac is a historic fishing village on the north Cornwall coast, built around a sheltered natural harbour between two headlands. Its narrow lanes, tightly packed cottages and steep valley setting give the village a shape that is immediately recognisable from above.

Fishing has been central to Port Isaac for centuries, and the harbour remains a working part of the village rather than simply a scenic backdrop. The waterfront centres on the Platt, where boats are launched and landed beneath the surrounding cottages. Port Isaac is also widely known as the filming location for Doc Martin and as the home of the Fisherman’s Friends, although its character reaches well beyond those modern associations.

This collection focuses on the relationship between the village, harbour and open Atlantic. The aerial views show how closely the buildings follow the steep sides of the inlet, while the sheltered harbour water shifts from lighter blues to the much deeper colour of the sea beyond.
