Beach Wall Art from Cornwall

Choose a photograph of a beach you know, or start with the kind of view you prefer: a long sweep of sand, a bay enclosed by cliffs, or the meeting of surf and shoreline seen from above. This selection brings together original photographs from Cornwall's beaches. The location links help you find more views of a familiar place, while the comparison below shows how differently a coastline can appear at low and high tide.

One coastline, different tides

These two Bedruthan photographs show why the tide matters when choosing a beach print. The low-tide image emphasises the sand and the spacing of the rocks; the high-tide view puts more attention on the stacks standing in water and the light across the surface. They were taken on different occasions, with different light and compositions, so this is not a same-position before-and-after sequence. Compare the elements you prefer in each, rather than assuming there is only one definitive view of the place.

Choose the view, not just the beach name

Two photographs of the same beach can emphasise very different things. A wider view may include cliffs and familiar buildings; a tighter composition can put the attention on sand, reef or the line of the surf. Decide whether recognising the place is your priority or whether you prefer the simpler shapes within it. For a pair of prints, photographs from neighbouring beaches can make a personal connection, but compare the images side by side before deciding. They do not have to share the same tide or colour. Each print is ordered separately, so you can choose the views and sizes that suit you.

Measure the finished print, not only the image

Before ordering, mark out the space the finished artwork will occupy. A frame and mount add to the image dimensions; an optional border on an unframed print is a different measurement again. Check the selected product's size and finish information rather than relying on the apparent scale of a room preview. The size and framing guide explains the current options.

Questions about beach prints

Where can I see more photographs of the same beach?

Follow its location card above. The existing location collection is the place to browse the other available views and products from that beach.

Does a low-tide print show more of the beach?

In the Bedruthan example above, more exposed sand is visible in the low-tide photograph. Other images also depend on the camera angle and framing, so compare the actual photograph rather than choosing from the tide label alone.

Will the finished print include a watermark?

No. Purchased prints are produced from the original high-resolution master without the website watermark. The online preview is a smaller, compressed display image.
